The City of Topeka is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as its Budget Manager. This position is responsible for the overall administration, development and management of the City's resource allocation process. This includes the preparation and monitoring of the City's operating and capital budget, five-year financial forecast, quarterly financial monitoring reports, and other budgetary reports as needed.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the official budget representative regarding budget programs, policies and activities.
- Provide assistance to all City departments in strategic planning and business development related to the annual budget.
- Plan and manage the full cycle of the budget adoption process.
- Coordinate the development of the annual Capital Improvement Plan program.
The ideal candidate:
- Is a skilled leader with the ability to coach all levels of City staff.
- Possesses a high degree of integrity, judgement and independence.
- Is highly analytical.
- Has the ability to prioritize tasks and exercise sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business, or public administration is required; an MPA is preferred.
- Must have three years of technical experience in public management, budgeting, or finance.
- Must have two years of management and supervisory experience.

Annual entry salary: $77,026 - $92,732 DOQ
