The City of Topeka’s Prosecution division is seeking an experienced paralegal to join its team. This position provides direct case support to staff that provide legal services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
What you'll do:
- Provide general administrative support to the division’s attorneys as appropriate.
- Communicate with clients regarding upcoming appointments, deadlines, and relevant case information.
- Assist with the collection of key evidentiary documents.
- Maintain case files and data entry in the case management database.
The ideal candidate:
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Has the ability to analyze facts and evidence to make sound recommendations.
- Is proficient with typing, standard office software, and equipment.
- Has knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and the judicial system.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university as a Paralegal or related field.
- In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma is required with an additional two years of clerical experience in the legal field.
- Two years of experience in clerical work in the legal field.

Entry rate of pay: $23.07 - $27.68 per hour, DOQ
