A Police Officer is primarily responsible for enforcing the law and protecting the public. Police Officers detect and prevent crime, complete assignments and participate in community safety programs.

  • Shift Differential pay ($.70/hr for shifts starting after noon)
  • 4.5 Hours of Pay / Compensatory Time for Off-Duty Court appearances
  • Physical Incentive Pay (up to $90/quarter)
  • Compensation for Certified Bilingual Officers ($75/month)
  • $1.25/hr for Field Training Officers
  • Premium Pay for Detectives and Sergeants
  • Promotion and Specialty Unit selection points for Military Service and Formal Education
  • Contractual Agreement Between the City of Topeka and FOP Lodge #3
