Water Utility Engineer - Utilities
Engineer Your Career with the City of Topeka The Water Utility Engineer performs professional civil and environmental engineering work involving supervising, coordinating and administering major public improvement projects and programs, with a concentration for GIS Mapping and asset management of the City’s Water System, including Treatment-Storage-Pumping-Distribution Systems. The incumbent supervises and participates in the planning, design, budgeting, and scheduling of engineering projects, including overseeing the work of contractors and consultants. This position primarily works 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and at least two years related water systems, planning design, construction operations and asset management experience after professional registration, with at least two years of project management experience. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of KS or have the ability to obtain KS reciprocity within six months of hire date. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and city insurable driving record, KS license required within six months of hire date. Annual entry salary: $100,000 - $130,000 DOQ.
